More than a month without contact, without sending emails. The reasons are many: the trip to Borneo, for one, a lack of inspiration to write, but above all, the time I spent learning to use new technologies (new to me, at least).
Deciding to start a blog and actually figuring out how to do it sounds simple enough, but it didn't come easily. The blog itself wasn't much of a hurdle, but along the way I had to learn new ways to upload photos (Picasa, by the way, is highly recommended, both for organizing photos on your own computer and for sharing them), as well as how to write scripts to add links to the blog and a handful of other things besides.
I have two people to thank, above all, for keeping me more or less current with what's new in computers and the internet. Marcel (no matter how hard I try, I can never quite keep up with him technologically) and Jose María Noriega, a friend from university who first suggested the idea of starting a blog and who introduced me, back when they were genuinely fresh discoveries, to things like Google Earth (Keyhole, as it was called then) and others.
I look forward to comments from everyone, but especially from those two, who can offer constructive ideas for improving the blog and making it more interesting.
From now on, you can follow the latest from our adventure on these pages (and perhaps the occasional post on other topics). Welcome, everyone.
